Use a cutter to quickly and easily create stickers

sticker_bus.jpgUse a cutter to create stickers for advertising and signage in a flash. Knowledge of design programs is not required, since the CutStudio software will go a long way. You can draw shapes, format text and insert illustrations. Are you familiar with Illustrator or Corel Draw? Then use CutStudio as a plug-in to run your cutter.

Roland DG is providing CutStudio free with its cutters. This software allows you to create simple designs and format text. You can also import and edit files. After completion, send your design to the cutter and it will be cut down to the finest details. You can quickly and easily create stickers for advertising and signage in the adhesive film of your choice.

Create your own design

CutStudio allows you to create simple designs. You can create your design using the available circles, ovals, rectangles, stars and a standard set of symbols.

You can also insert and format text. Select a font from the fonts available on your computer (True Type Fonts), rotate the text, put it in diagonally etc. All the lines you see are cutting lines, and therefore it is best not to use extremely fine fonts.

Importing a file

You can import vector as well as bitmap files into CutStudio. Vector files will be cut immediately. Bitmap files like jpeg have to be vectorised first, so that the cutter knows exactly where to cut.

To vectorise images, just right-click and select [Image outline]. Then select [Extract contour lines]. To remove lines, select [Break polyline]. Select the lines you want to delete and click on [Delete].

Cutting stickers

Place your selected material in the cutter. Depending on your application, you may opt for transparent or coloured self-adhesive vinyl, heat transfer media or other materials suitable for cutting.

You then send your design to the cutter from CutStudio. A fully cut design will be ready within seconds (or minutes - depending on the size of your design). Remove excess material and if necessary, use transfer tape to apply the sticker on a car, display window, floor, door, etc. If you have selected heat transfer material, use a heat press to apply the sticker on textiles.

Creating multi-coloured stickers

Would you like to create multi-coloured stickers instead? If so, our printers with cutting function offer an ideal solution.
